Application Processor Module (APM)

APM blades provide the horsepower to run the applications. The more blades, the more power.

Each APM can run one application in what we call a “Virtual Application Processor” (VAP) or you can decide to combine APMs together into what is called a VAP Group. This means that you can scale the performance of individual applications running inside the X-Series. See image below.

Some examples include:

  • 10 APMs dedicated to your Firewall
  • 4 APMs dedicated to  your Firewall, 6 to the IPS
  • 2 APMs dedicated to your Firewall, 3 for the IPS and 4 for the Web Application Firewall.

The permutations are vast. But the control is yours.
