Websense protocol detection is signature-based, allowing for all protocols and policy settings to be easy-to-use, out-of-the-box. While non-signature-based solutions require administrative intervention when a protocol is added or changed, the Websense protocol database is updated seamlessly and automatically.
WebBlazer allows easy management of protocol policy settings through a visual user interface. Non-signature-based solutions do not have visibility into new or tunneled protocols, and may require the use of proprietary, non-intuitive, command-line scripting.
